I saw something last night that makes me "smile out loud"...

When I heard that John McCain had selected Sarah Palin as his running mate, I have to admin that I didn’t know who she was. At the time, it didn’t bother me much because I’d decided to vote for McCain anyway – primarily as a vote against Obama.

I saw something last night that makes me “smile out loud” as my wife commented on how Sarah Palin reminds her of her childhood dream to be President. Smart. Decisive. Witty. Strategic. All words to describe her speech (and hopefully her as well), but the quality that struck me most was her ability to inspire me to lose the apathy I’ve built up about this election.

All of a sudden, I find myself freely talking politics with co-workers with passion. What a breath of fresh air in a slugfest that has brought out the worst in many people over the past two years. These last few months are going to be a neat time for our country.

What are your thoughts on Sarah Palin?
